National Service Scheme

The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of our college has been actively serving the community since its inception in 2014-15. In 2014-15, the unit earned the prestigious recognition of being ranked third among the top seven NSS units under the IHRD directorate. Beyond its flagship programs, our NSS unit takes pride in organizing a diverse range of impactful activities, including road safety awareness campaigns, expert-led discussions on various topics, medical camps, and anti-tobacco initiatives.

Guided by the NSS motto, “Personality Development Through Community Service,” our unit strives to instill a spirit of selflessness and social responsibility among students. A highlight of our initiatives is the 7-day Special Camp, conducted annually, which provides volunteers with invaluable hands-on experience in community service. These camps nurture the "Not Me, But You" philosophy, fostering empathy, teamwork, and leadership. Over the years, we have successfully organized four such special camps, each receiving immense appreciation from both the local community and the media.

  • Our NSS unit continues to uphold its commitment to creating socially responsible citizens, making a meaningful difference in the lives of many.

The symbol of the NSS is based on the ‘Rath’ wheel of the Konark Sun Temple situated in Orissa.

The Konark wheel in the symbol has eight bars which represent the 24 hours of the day. The Red colour in the badge indicates that the NSS volunteers are full of blood. i.e. lively, active energetic and full of high spirit. The Navy Blue colour indicates the cosmos of which the NSS is a tiny part, ready to contribute its share for the welfare of mankind.

The Motto of NSS "Not Me But You", reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the need for self-less service. NSS helps the students develop appreciation to other person's point of view and also show consideration to '/other living beings. The philosophy of the NSS is well doctrined in this motto, which underlines/on the belief that the welfare .of an individual is ultimately dependent on the welfare of the society on the whole and therefore, the NSS volunteers shall strive for the well-being of the society.
